Plasma Transfer Arc (PTA) Powder Materials
Designed to withstand harsh environments, our carbide Plasma Transfered Arc (PTA) powders meet the harsh challenges of the petrochemical and mining industries. Our Superalloy PTA powders are compatible with similar chemical pads for applications such as gas turbine components restoration.
Carbide powder for PTA
Typically for hard padding, PlasmaDur PTA welding products have been designed to protect parts that are subject to high wear and impact wear. We offer a range of 40 to 70% carbide ingredients to best suit your PTA application requirements.
We offer two types of carbide materials for our powders:
Mono Tungsten Carbide (MTC):
- Fully carburized stoichiometric compounds
- Stable single-phase microstructure
- Does not melt during processing
- Matrix does not tend to metal brittleness or cracking
Fused Tungsten Carbide (FTC):
- Used when better impact resistance is required
Our matrix materials are high quality gas atomized self-fluxing alloys. We offer a hardness range of 30 to 60 HRC to ensure the best compatibility with your specific application.
Typical applications
- Oil sand extraction
- Lignite mining
- Petrochemical research, drilling and extraction
Superalloy PTA powders
Amdry superalloy materials are atomized to gas for consistent composition and repeatable results and then sized for the PTA process. In repairing worn parts, we have powders formulated to suit the base chemistry of your part. There are also special coating powders for materials where an oxidation and corrosion resistant surface is desired. Whatever product you need, Amdry superalloy materials will significantly reduce your maintenance and repair costs.
Typical applications
- Repair of gas turbine parts
